First Centre of Global Business and Digital Economy in Asia is in UKM

BANGI, 9 October 2018 – Centre for Global Business and Digital Economy (GLoBDE) was established at Faculty Economic and Management (FEP), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), is the first centre of its kind in Asia. GLoBDE aims to generate and promote advance knowledge to leverage emerging technologies and best practice in global business and digital economy.
Pro Vice-Chancellor, Strategy and Corporate Development, Prof. Dr. Ishak Yussof said GLoBDE that established on 1st June 2018 is full of potentials to grow as a leading research and training centre in Malaysia, Asia and beyond.
“This includes the focus on Post-Graduates students, that is trained to be among the top academic researcher and practitioner,” he said at the launching of GloBDE ceremony that organized together with MoA/MoU Exchange and Public Talk Series 1/2018 recently.
At the ceremony, MoU and MoA documents exchange are between UKM and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC), Sutherland Global Services, Eastreem and AutoCount respectively.
The MoU/MoA exchange is a strong indicator to the strong commitment and support given to GloBDE that is just 3 months old centre.
Prof. Dr. Ishak said through the MoU/Moa, the industry and practitioners are committed to equipping graduates with work while study experience that increased knowledge and skills that is required by the industry.
The GLoBDE also holds regular knowledge sharing forums, public talk to bring different disciplines across the university together and reaching out to business communities across global and digital economy knowledge.
