PUTRAJAYA, April 4 2016 – A reference and guide book on the new Integrated Cumulative Grade Point Average (iCGPA) was launched by Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, today.
The Minister said the book, Rubrik ICGPA, explains the best ways to design curriculum and learning outcomes in order to implement the iCGPA.
The National University of Malaysia (UKM) was the pioneer in utilising the iCGPA, followed with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP).
“The ministry received positive feedback from the universities because iCGPA is not only changing the way lecturers interact with students but also modifies the way they teach,” said Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh.
He said the iCGPA also serves to interpret the ability of students in communication skills, management, entrepreneurship, social skills, practical skills and problem-solving.
He acknowledged that iCGPA not a new but is an improvement from CGPA which has been implemented at all universities.
