Increase of Jobs in STEM Areas

The demand for employees in areas involving elements of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is much higher than other areas, said Minister of Education, Dato’ Seri Mahadzir Khalid.
Dato’ Seri Mahadzir who was speaking at the ExxonMobil – UKM Bitara STEM Camp, said STEM will enable Malaysia to stay competitive in terms of development in line with the National Economic Policy.
He said Bitara STEM is a noble initiative, which may help in educating and enlightening students on the opportunities in the field involving STEM, cultivate their interest, and consequently improve the country’s position in the subject of science and mathematics.
Meanwhile, UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Partnership, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Imran Ho Abdullah said UKM will always support such initiatives and give it full support through its experts and facilities.
The ExxonMobil – UKM Bitara STEM Camp is a collaboration between UKM, ExxonMobil and Ministry of Education.
