BANGI, 9 December 2016 – UKM Malay Literature student, Mod Azlan Jalili did UKM proud when he emerged as winner of the Pertandingan Dendangan Syair during ‘Karnival Bahasa dan Sastera, Bulan Bahasa Kebangsaan 2016’, recently.

The competition, jointly organized by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Pusat Penyelidikan Bitara Melayu (PPBM) and Kelab Pengajian Melayu (KPM), was held at Dewan Perdana Faculty of Social Science and Humanities UKM.

“I was really suprised when they announced that I won because the competition was rather tough,” said Mod Azlan.

Mod Azlan defeated 16 other participants from both Public Institution of Higher Learning and Institute of Teacher Education.

Meanwhile, the second and third place are respectively held by the representative from IPG Kampus Khas and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
