BANGI, 9 December 2016 – Tun Fatimah Hashim Women Leadership Centre (PKW) recently launched Pergerakan Wanita Dalam Memperjuangkan Hak, a book written by two famous scholars Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Nik Safiah Karim and Dr Rokiah Talib.

The book is about the role of women and their rights in national development.

The book also looked back at the history of the movement and the struggles of local women in the early stages of trying to enhance their position in the community.

Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister, Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun said book is testament to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s (UKM) initiative in highlighting women’s pivotal role in the society.

“The book also clearly proves that women’s right is not merely a government’s agenda, but one that is also supported by other institutions,” she said.
