Postgraduate Students Hold Important Role in UKM’s Ecosystem

BANGI, 27 February 2017 – Postgraduate students shouldn’t underestimate their role in the university because they are part of the ecosystem in the academia, said UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali.
“For us, the postgraduate students are an important component of this university and today we listen to their wishes and we express our desires towards them,” he said during the ‘Red Umbrella’ sharing session ‘Red Umbrella’, at the Postgraduate Information Day 2017, recently.
He said postgraduates need to understand their purpose at university and why the university chose them.
He also said that the term red umbrella is used as a symbol to encourage students to become different and more prominent than others.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Pro.f Dato’ Ir Dr Riza Atiq Abdullah OK Rahmat, Deputy Vic- Chancellor of Industry and Community Partnership, Prof Dato’ Dr Imran Ho Abdullah and Director of UKM Graduate Centre, Prof Dr Andanastuti Muchtar.
Postgraduate Information Day is intended to celebrate the new postgraduate students who registered for semester two 2016/2017 and to introduce the UKM management team.
