Research@FTSM Opportunity for Lecturers to Improve P&P

Being innovative and creative in research is the best platform for Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to contribute to the industry and society.
UKM Board of Director Datuk Ahmed Tasir Lope Pihie said, the program initiated at the Faculty of Science and Information Technology (Research@FTSM), for instance, gives opportunities for lecturers to improve their teaching and learning techniques (P&P) and create smart partnership through cooperation with ministries and institutions of higher education.
“I would like to congratulate FTSM researchers for their effort and thank the industry, especially Minerals and Geoscience Department Malaysia, Malaysian Pepper Board, Terengganu State Museum and Association of Former Malaysian Army (PERHEBAT), for being confident with the ability and expertise of UKM researchers,” he explained.
Datuk Ahmed Tasir said the programme also acts as a platform for researchers to share their findings with the community.
Meanwhile, FTSM Dean, Prof Dr Abdullah Mohd Zin said in 2015, Research@FTSM programme was focused on strengthening the laboratory and since then, 23 research laboratories has been established.
“In 2016, FTSM researchers focused on three key areas which is Research Technology on Information Computing, Multimedia Software and Cyber Security Management.
He said, this year Research@FTSM programme will focus on the impact of research on society, in accordance with the goals and focus listed by the university.
