BANGI, 13 October 2016 – The key to being successful in one’s career is to be interested in the course one studies, said UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Students and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dato’ Noor Aziah Mohd Awal.
She said that students should inculcate their interest in each of the course they take to ensure that they do well in it.
“Besides the interest, students should analyse the job market to gauge what the industry needs,” she said at the gathering of UKM Law Faculty first year students, recently.
She also highlighted the fact that one shouldn’t limit themselves to only the field they study in, when looking for a job.
“For example, this faculty (Faculty of Law), not only produced good lawyers, but also politicians and Ahli Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri (EXCO),” she said.
She advised students to not be complacent and take the opportunity to work with legislative firms upon graduation to gain experience and exposure.
“As a young graduate, you should not be embarrassed to ask and demand knowledge from someone with experience, even if he is a clerk,” she said.
