BANGI, July 27, 2016 – About 120 students from 22 schools, including the University Kebangsaan Malaysia’s PERMATApintar National Gifted Centre, gathered to present their research findings at the International Future Scientist Conference for the Gifted and Talented Students 2016, recently.

Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Riza Atiq OK Abdullah said the conference is a platform for young students to present their research findings in an effort to elevate the quality of their research.

“We will be choosing impressive and noteworthy research that can be showcased at the national and international level. These selected research will also be published in proceeding which would be available on the internet so that it can be read by everyone around the world,” he said at the launch of the conference, recently.

He said the three day conference is also an opportunity for students to publicize the research that has been done successfully.

“Sharing what they have done with members of the public is a good way to gauge feedback on their project,” added Dato’ Riza.

Meanwhile, Director of PERMATApintar National Gifted Centre, Prof Datuk Dr Noriah Mohd Ishak said almost 200 research has been produced by Malaysian school students since the conference was first organised, five years ago.

“We have more participants this year and this include those from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT), Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaaan Cina (SJKC), Boarding School, daily school and Mara Junior Science College,” she said.
