BANGI, 20 May, 2016 –  Spectators and participants of  a race in a forest organised by The National University of Malaysia (UKM) to promote eco-friendly and healthy living could be forgiven for seeing double, as twin siblings made a credible proformance at the race.

Twelve-year old twins Aimi Nadhirah and Aimi Nadilah won third and fourth place respectively, clocking approximately 26 minutes in the 5 km Open Category at the  2016 MY10K@UKM Go Green Run, here recently.

When asked about the run, they acknowledged that it was challenging as the course was hilly.

Their father, Idris Ahmad, who also took part, said said his daughters practised regularly for the race.

“Every morning and evening, they jog around the housing estate for 5 kilometers  an hour everyday,” he explained about their daily exercise routine.

According to their mother, Nurul Haiza Hazim, running  depends on consistency of training and improving time records.

She was relieved that her daughters are involved in sports rather than be tempted by ‘unhealthy’ activities.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali joined some 1,000 people taking part in the run which also aimed at showcasing the greenery and natural scenery of UKM.

The race was flagged off by Prof Datuk Noor Aziah Mohd Awal, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students and Alumni).ukmnewsportal-eg
