UKM Academics Feted By Pakarunding

BANGI, 13 Mac 2015 – The National Universiti of Malaysia (UKM) academics who had given their expert services as consultants were feted to an appreciation dinner at Hotel Puri Pujangga here tonight.
UKM Pakarunding a consultancy services subsidiary of the university feted 40 of the academics from various faculties and institutes in appreciation of their services as consultants to a number of agencies in the country.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakarunding, Prof Dato’ Dr Mohd Marzuki Mustafa who is also the Director of UKM Strategy Centre and CEO, Mirza Safri Sufian attended the function.
Prof Marzuki said commitments shown by the academics is much appreciated and can assist them in getting the funds needed for them to carry out their research work especially in the light of the annual reduction in budget allocation given to the university by the Education Ministry.
Such commitment is important as it will not only support their research work but will enable them to provide their expertise needed by various agencies and bodies in the country.
Prof Marzuki hoped the younger academics will learn from their more experienced peers to want to carry out consultancy services when needed.
Pakarunding CEO Mirza Safri Sufian said the agency which has been in operation since 2002 very much appreciated the commitments shown by the academics in rendering their expertise to the various agencies through the subsidiary as it will enhance the image and good name of the university.
Such commitment will provide positive impact to UKM in providing its expertise to various agencies and bodies needing them.
He hopes moves by Pakarunding to promote the university’s expertise will encourage the academics to render their services in various consultancy work.
Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof Ir Dato’ Dr Riza Atiq OK Rahmat (Academic & International Affairs), Prof Datin Noor Aziah Mohd Awal (Students and Alumni Affairs) and Prof Dr Imran Ho Abdullah (Industry & Community Partnerships) attended the function.
