UKM Collaborates with Northwest Minzu University

BANGI, 31 January 2017 – UKM recently signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Northwest Minzu University, China as an initiative to empower academic collaboration between two countries.
UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali, who was represented by UKM Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment Dean Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Wahab Mohammad, said, the MoU will increase cooperation between UKM and NWMA in conducting research, student exchange, education, consultation, and joint publications.
The cooperation, he said, will benefit both countries as it will see higher education institutions sharing their expertise in doing research and publication.
UKM Vice-Chancellor signed the LoI on behalf of UKM, while NWMA was represented by its Vice President, Wang Zhaxi.
In his speech, Wang said that NWMU has received an allocation of 20 million to create collaboration with Islamic countries and Malaysia was seen as among the most advanced Muslim country in the field of Science and Technology.
He added that NWMU was interested to collaborate with UKM as the university has a lot of potential, especially in the field of research.
