BANGI, 31 January 2017 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) UKM will continue to collaborate with Indonesian institutions of higher education(IPTI).

The collaboration was recently realised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UKM with Universitas Khairun and Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Dumai, Indonesia signed by all three educational institutions.

UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said the intention to enhance the quality of teaching staff by IPTI is in line with UKM’S role as a research university and its aspirations towards world class university.

He said that UKM aims to increase international post graduate enrolment from the current 4,000 international students.

“On behalf of UKM, I feel proud as we are the preferred university or university of choice by a lot of Indonesians,” he explained.

He hopes that the collaboration will continue in the future.

“We will increase the research collaboration at both universities and hope that this cooperation can improve knowledge and ensure that the knowledge will benefit the community at large,” he added.
