Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has established new cooperation with 35 Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (IPTI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed, recently.
The cooperation involves student exchange programmes, collaboration in research & publication, and includes opportunities for Indonesian lecturers to pursue their post graduate degree in UKM.
UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali said the relationship between UKM and universities in Indonesia has been established since the early 1970s.
“Several professors from Indonesia were involved in the establishment of UKM.
“This relationship reflects the kinship of Nusantara and which needs to be further flourished,” he said while delivering his speech at that MoU Signing Ceremony.
He said UKM is proud to be chosen as one of Indonesia’s destination to send their academician for postgraduate degrees.
“We hope this cooperation will be continued in the future and the relationship between UKM and IPTI can be further enhanced,” he said.
