BANGI, 9 August 2016 – Collaborations in research, staffs exchange program, and publishing are among the three prime focus determined by the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and Dirosat Islamiyah Al-Amien Institute (IDIA) in the Memorandum of Understanding signed, recently.

The MoU is a platform for both institutions to collaborate in expanding the research areas related to Islamic studies.

The MoU was signed in conjunction with the launch of Islamic Civilisation Symposium 1.0 by Prof Dato’ Noor Aziah Mohd Awal.

In the opening speech, she mentioned that the theme, “The Intergration of Knowledge In Developing the Islamic Civilisations”, is best to describe the move made by UKM as the institution that led the academic research on the understanding of Islamic way of life and to  convey the right message to the society based on the Islamic beliefs.

“This symposium has the potential to be a platform for researchers from various disciplines to collaborate and integrate Islamic perspectives in their studies.

“Doing a research with an Islamic perspective and framework needs to be highlighted so that students realize the credentials and importance of Islamic knowledge,” she said.

The two-day symposium will witness the presentation of 28 working papers by students and other invited speakers.ukmnewsportal-eg
