UKM Launches Road Safety Campaign

BANGI, 13 October 2016 – The National University of Malaysia (UKM) recently launched a road safety campaign to increase awareness on the importance of obeying the traffic law.
Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof Dato’ Noor Aziah Mohd Awal said the campaign emphasized on traffic and safety issues which involves everyone in the campus.
“The campaign encompasses activities such as seminar and forum, exhibition and distribution of pamphlets about road safety,” she said at the launch of Road Safety Campaign.
She said, the society needs to drive responsibly and respect the rights of other road users, regardless of whether they drive heavy vehicles, car, motorcycle or are on foot, because it is very important to appreciate the lives of others.
The campaign was supported by Honda, Goodyear, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Road Safety Department (JKJR).
Also present at the ceremony was Deputy Director of Risk Management Centre, Sustainable and Occupational Health (ROSH-UKM), Prof. Dr. Zaidi Isa.
