UKM-Politeknik Negeri Medan Educational Cooperation

BANGI, 21 April 2017 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Politeknik Negeri Medan, Indonesia, which will see both institutions embarking on educational cooperation.
Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB) Deputy Dean, Prof Dr Siti Masrinda Tasirin said the cooperation will be achieved by conducting joint missions, research and publication.
“This cooperation will be materialised, especially through joint publication, as both institutions will benefit when articles are published in leading journals,” she said.
She added, through doing researches and publications together, both universities will be able to increase their ranking.
Meanwhile, the Director IV of Cooperation’s representative, Ir Berta Br Ginting said the purpose of the collaboration is to share knowledge and research findings in the areas agreed upon.
“We chose UKM because of its good reputation so that we can do academic activities that can bring Politeknik Negeri Medan to the forefront,” she said.
