UKM Promote Social Business to Students

BANGI, 3 May 2017- In Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through Pusat CITRA Universiti and Yunus Centre of Social Business (YCSB), Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP) organized a public lecture for a subject, Fundamental of Entrepreneurship and Innovation which aims to promote social business among students.
The public lecture saw MyHarapan Chief Executive Officer Nurfarini Daing discussing about Zero Poverty through Job Creation, in front of some 4,000 UKM students.
Pusat CITRA Deputy Director of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Publication, Associate Professor Dr Rosilah Hassan said the decision to invite MyHarapan is part of an initiative to expose students to the concept of social entrepreneurship.
She hopes that the students will take the opportunity to use the various facilities and support given by MyHarapan to move embark in the field of social entrepreneurship.
Dr Rosilah Hassan said the idea to collaborate with YCSB is in line with the university’s intention in promoting new and innovative business ideas among students.
“The concept of Social Entrepreneurship is still new and being developed.
“The initiative to promote this concept to UKM students are expected to impact positively on young people and encourage a variety of innovative new business ideas,” she said.
