BANGI, 9 December 2016 – A total of seven Asean countries participated in the UKM Asean Art Festival, organized by Artisukma in collaboration with Cultural Center, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, which took place at Dewan Tun Abdul Razak Chancellor (DECTAR), recently.

Program Director, Nur Syamimi Syahira said the program aims to promote the culture of ASEAN countries to the public within UKM and outside the campus.

“This is our initiative to ensure that local cultures are well-preserved and made known to the young generation,” she said.

Hani Farhana, a second year student studying anthropology and sociology, said, the program enlightened her on cultures practiced by other countries.

The UKM Asean Art Festival lasted for five days and involves seven Asean countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Thailand and Brunei.
