BANGI, 8 April 2015 – Eight of the 13 Professors heading the clusters of The National Council of Professors are from The National University of Malaysia (UKM), said Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali.
He said the leaders at UKM have performed well have always been outstanding.
“I believe that one of you (student) who are in front of me now will be a best person one day,” he said while launching the I love UKMprogramme, here today.
Prof Noor Azlan said in life nothing comes easy without effort.
“If here is easy, maybe the way there is difficult. If you stand and talk about UKM anywhere, you must understand that what you do is for UKM,” he said.
Meanwhile, UKM Students Representative Council, Muhammad Farhan Khairuddin in his speech said if any student has a problem, it must be settled together.
“We sit under one roof, is it wrong if we don’t share the problems together,” he said.
He stressed that all students should recall the history of the establishment of the university 45 years ago and realise how difficult the pioneers of UKM fought to set up the university.
“If today we think of tearing down our fence, we might as well destroy our home. Please think hard about it,” said Muhammad Farhan.
The I Love UKM is a programme organized by the Students Representative Council and residential colleges.
The event held throughout the semester consisted of six campaigns namely UKM is Great, Zero Polystyrene Boxes, We Are Efficient We Save, Info and Communications to UKM, Welfare and Security of Women and Let’s Move Around UKM.
