Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) student, Bhavithra A/P Subramaniam was crowned as Miss Saree 2016 at a charity dinner in conjunction with the 86th anniversary of Malacca Indian Association(MIA), which took place in The Grand Ballroom Hotel Equatorial, Melaka recently.

Bhavithra, 22, from the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities said she didn’t expect to win the competition because the other 12 finalists were all astounding.

“I was encouraged to join this competition by my parents, who actually helped prepared my costume,” she said, adding that the experience has help her build a good self-esteem.

This was Bhavithra’s first time, entering a beauty pageant.
