UKM Won Five Awards in Anugerah Buku Negara 2019

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 April 2019 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) won five awards in Anugerah Buku Negara 2019 (National Book Award 2019), held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) recently.
Five awards received are Best Luxury Books, Popular Public Books (Biography categories), Best Public Books (Archelogy categories), Best Ethnic Books and Best Scripts (Naskah Terbaik).
The Best Luxury Book category is won by the Flora Bakau Malaysia book, written by Wan Juliana Wan Ahmad, Norhayati Ahmad and Abdul Latiff Mohamad. Popular Public Books (Biography Category) was awarded to Rokiah Talib on her book entitled No Wrong Door: The Story of Sidek Hassan. Third category award, Best Public Books category (Archaeological Category) is given to Asyaari Muhammad on his book; Arkeologi di Malaysia: Dahulu dan Kini.
Rahim Aman, Muhammad Nur Latif Dan Shahidi A Hamid won the Best Ethnic Books category through a book entitle Linguistik Bandingan Bahasa Iban, and Best Script category is awarded to the book Life in the Triangle: Tun Sakaran Marine Park and Sipadan Islan Park written by Norhayati Ahmad, Gerry Goeden and Jamili Nais.
National Book Awards 2019 is organized by the National Book Development Foundation was held in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair starting on March 29 until April 7, 2019 in PWTC.
