BANGI, 3 August 2017- After nearly 37 years, Malam Sejambak Kasih ceremony witnessed the reunion of UKM’s sixth batch alumni.

The ceremony also saw the launch of UKM 7680 Alumni Fund, the alumni’s initiative in contributing towards the university’s development.

UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof Dato’ Noor Aziah Mohd Awal said the university’s management welcomes contributions from alumni and it will be utilized to help students in need.

The Alumni Council Chairman Dato Azis Yacub said the event was also held in recognition of UKM lecturers who had played a pivotal role in their education.

“This is where it all began,” he said.

They also intend to maintain close ties with UKM through the establishment of an alumni cooperative, to ensure that they could continuously contribute to the university.

UKM Alumni Fund received a donation of RM10,000 from UKM 7680 alumni, at the event.

Also present were Dean of Faculty Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof Dr Mohd Fuad Mat Jali, Advisor of X UKM 7680, Dato Othman Desa and Deputy Director of Alumni Relations, Dr Nazrul Anuar Nayan.
