BANGI, 4 August 2016 – Smiles and happiness shone on 160 orphans and the aborigins as they received contributions from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in conjunction with UKM’s Aidil Fitri Celebrations at Tun Abdul Razak Cancellor Hall (DEKTAR), recently.
The contributions ranged from RM20.00 to RM100.00 and were handed over by the Chairperson of UKM Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dr Ibrahim Saad and UKM Vice Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali.
Earlier, in his welcoming speech, Prof Datuk Noor Azlan said that Aidil Fitri Celebration is a good platform to inculcate good values such as filial piety and togetherness among UKM staff and students.
“It is also the best time to ask for forgiveness and start anew,” he said.
In addition, he encouraged everyone to analyze and evaluate their participation and contribution in achieving UKM’s mission and vision.
“I’m proud that now UKM has successfully faced various challenges and emerge as one of the best University in Malaysia. The success achieved is due to the commitment of each and every one in UKM,” he said.
Approximately 3,000 UKM staffs from the Bangi, Kuala Lumpur and Cheras campuses attended the ceremony.
