BANGI, 22 Dec 2015 – Women bowlers of the National University of Malaysia (UKM) emerged runners up in two categories at the 2015 IPT Ten-Pin Bowling Championship, taking second place for the Women’s team event and Masters.

However, the men’s team didn’t fare so well and were completely washed out.

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) was crowned overall champions of the bowling meet held at the Ampang Bowl here from 7 till 10 Dec.

Eleven Higher Education Institutions took part, including the National University of Malaysia (UKM), Majlis Sukan Kolej Komuniti Malaysia (MASKOM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM).

Besides them, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UTM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Multimedia University (MMU), Kolej Poly-Tech Mara Batu Pahat (KPTM) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) also participated.

The IPT Bowling Championship 2015 is an annual tournament organised by the  Ministry of Higher Education with each participant taking turns at hosting, and UKM hosted this edition.Secretary of the Sports Division of the Ministry, Hazally Jali gave away the prizes and officiated the closing ceremony.
