UKM NTU To Collaborate In ICT Research And Studies

BANGI, 22 Mac. – The Institute of Visual Informatics UKM has instituted its first collaboration with the National Taipei University of Taiwan to cooparate in the ICT industry.
A memorandum of understanding, the first between the two universities, was signed here today to enable researchers and graduate students of UKM do their research and studies in NTU.
It was signed by IVI Director, Prof Dato’ Dr Halimah Badioze Zaman on behalf of UKM and the Dean of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science College, Prof Victor R.L. Shen for NTU.
NTU is offering six scholarships to UKM students to do their masters in computers science, engineering and town planning.
Prof Halimah said such collaboration between universities and their research centres like IVI is useful in meeting the demands of K-economy as well as addressing various issues that cropped up in ICT and the digital world for the benefit of the people.
She expressed confidence that such cooperation will not only benefit the students but also improve the good relationship between Malaysia and Taiwan.
Present at the signing ceremony were Director of International Relations, Prof Dr Imran Ho and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof Dr Hazita Azman.
