Solar Hydrogen

Solar

INTRODUCTION

Direct one step water splitting using solar radiation is the ultimate goal for clean, sustainable and renewable hydrogen production. When used in fuel cells, which combine the hydrogen fuel and atmospheric oxygen to create electricity, the only by products are water (H2O) and heat, hence completes the hydrogen consumption and regeneration cycle. The focus of this group is designing, modeling and synthesizing of photosensitizer; preparation and testing of photoelectrode; and fabrication, testing and modeling of photoreactor to split water molecule to produce hydrogen fuel.
