To form a leading and excellent oncology gynecology unit in clinical, research, training and academic services.

• Improving service delivery in a comprehensive, efficient, effective, safe and quality manner.
• Enhance the development of professional and competent, knowledgeable, skilled, disciplined, ethical, and innovative employees.

• Provide services to referred Gynecology patients.
• Conducts early detection and screening of cancer to patients referred to the unit.
• Provide chemotherapy treatment to patients according to a prescribed regimen.
• Ensure that patients who have been diagnosed with Gynecological Cancer receive support with the involvement of other units (Dietetics, Department of Medical Social Work, Pharmacy and Oncology)
• Provide more efficient, customer -friendly services and improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

  3. Day-Care Chemotherapy & Procedures (Pap smear/HPV DNA, Post-surgery Wound care, Suture Removal)
  4. Gynae Oncology Surgery

Criteria for appointment:

  1. Referred from another hospital and patient would be given an appointment date within 2 weeks after discussion with Team’s Consultant or Specialist.
  2. Booked from Patient Admission Centre (PAC), HCTM or UKMSC clinic.

Process Flow:

  1. Appointment is made prior to date of visit to the hospital.
  2. Patient registers at the counter of Ward 2A on the day of appointment and payment would be made by the patient before procedure is conducted.
  3. Team’s Doctors/Specialist/Consultant reviews the patient’s profile, procedure’s indication and the planned management.
  4. Patient will be called, assigned to cubicles and the Team’s Doctors/Staff Nurse conducts the procedure accordingly.
  5. Upon completion, patient will be advised on the post-procedure care and would be given a new appointment date for further management or review.
  1. GYNAE ONCOLOGY SURGERY
  • Conducted on Fridays from 8.00 am at Operation Theatre Level 2, HCTM.
  • Cases are only to be conducted upon review by the Gynae Oncology Team.
