Salivary Gland And Head & Neck Dissection

MESSAGE FROM THE COURSE DIRECTOR

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, UKMMC had organized in 2013 the 1st Salivary and Maxilla Dissection Course. The overwhelming response had encouraged us to organize our 2nd dissection course in 2014, the 3rd in March 2015 and the 4th in September 2015. At present, the department organizes a 2-day cadaveric dissection workshop that was designed to cover the surgical aspect of salivary gland open surgery, identification of important structures during neck dissection, thyroplasty, laryngectomy and recurrent laryngeal nerve reinnervation. The lectures are suitable for all ENT doctors. This workshop is augmented with hands-on cadaveric dissection with each station supervised by our distinct teaching faculties with emphasis on parotidectomy, submandibulectomy and identifying important structures in neck dissection, thyroplasty, laryngectomy and recurrent laryngeal nerve reinnervation. This workshop will be held at the Temporal Dissection Lab, Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, UKM Medical Centre that is fully equipped for this purpose.
