Enrichment Programme
To address the learning needs of gifted and talented students in Malaysia, PERMATA@Pintar Negara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPPN-UKM), has developed an enrichment and acceleration program designed to challenge the minds of gifted students. This program, known as the School Holiday Enrichment Program (PPCS) PERMATA@Pintar UKM, is conducted during the year-end school holidays.
The foundation of PPCS is rooted in the National Education Philosophy, emphasizing the holistic development of students in terms of physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. The two-week program is facilitated by trained educators, assistant educators, and student assistants who have received specialized training from UKM experts, including training at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) in the United States.
Students engage in academic and co-curricular activities throughout the camp, including arts and sports, spiritual programs aligned with their respective religions, and learning excursions. Selected students, aged between 9 and 12 years, are chosen from diverse ethnicities and socio-cultural backgrounds based on the 2 screening tests: UKM1 and UKM2.
Participants will enrol in one of the 40 offered courses, reflecting the camp’s commitment to providing enrichment and acceleration programs that empower gifted students for lifelong learning.
