Overview

The course on International Summer School in TESOL spans three main parts i.e. theoretical aspect of English as a second language (ESL) teaching methodology, its practical aspect at national schools, and culture and heritage in Malaysia.

Participants will also take part in cultural trips to places of local cultural significance, group cultural performances, and a basic conversational Malay language course.

The course offers a total of three credits hour and participants will receive a certificate and academic transcript upon completion of the program.

Objectives

  • Introduce participants to the English language teaching approaches and strategies.
  • Allow participants to gain practicum experience at Malaysian national secondary schools (government-funded schools) and develop resources to support second language learning and teaching.

WEEK 3

a) ESL teaching observation and/or application at a local secondary school
b) Reflection Workshop
c) Sightseeing in Klang Valley

WEEK 4

a) Portfolio Preparation
b) Cultural activities and excursions

  • Cultural trips
  • Group cultural performances
  • Basic conversational Malay language

Program fee covers the following:

  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Land arrangements
  • Selected meals are provided
  • Local transportation
