Our Deepest Condolences on the Loss of Puan Sri Sukumari Sekhar

Tun Fatimah Hashim Women’s Leadership Centre entends its condolences and grief over the loss of nation’s champions of women’s rights, Puan Sri Sukumari Sekhar who passed away at Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL) on 8 March 2021.

Puan Sri Sukumari Sekhar is one of the founders and former Deputy President of the National Council of Women’s Organizations Malaysia (NCWO). She was among the individuals who fought for the women’s rights and welfare of children, including the children born out of wedlock to ensure that they get the adequate protection. She was honoured with the Anugerah Tokoh Wanita Award from the Prime Minister’s Department in conjunction with the National Women’s Day Celebration in October 2012.
