University Cultural Centre
The function of the University Cultural Centre is to plan, coordinate and implement cultural and arts activities, design arts courses and workshops for students and campus residents, provide services to faculties and departments offering related courses in culture and arts, offer services advice to all student associations and clubs related to cultural and arts programs and in particular arts groups under the ARTISUKMA Secretariat.
The University Cultural Centre also offers arts management advisory services, guidance and provides facilities to the Arts Secretariat at colleges in UKM. The centre is also tasked by the university as an advisor and manages the performing arts and culture involving official university events such as national and international level seminars and the university’s annual official events.
Performing Arts
If you get an adrenalin buzz from being on stage performing and dream of singing, dancing and/or acting for a living, then a performing art could be the perfect way to develop your skills and build your confidence. Many of these activities are designed to help UKM students and staffs become ‘triple threat’ performers-skillful in acting, singing and dancing, even playing music instruments.
Services
The University Cultural Centre provides the following services and facilities:
- Teaching and Learning of art classes
- Art courses and workshops
- Management of cultural and artistic performances
- Art equipment loan facility and booking of DECTAR hall / Art Theatre / Training Studio.
- Art Gallery Management and Resource Room
- Cultural advisory services and provide cooperation to student associations and staff in implementing cultural activities.
- Performing arts on and off campus.
- Coordinate and manage art classes under the Image and Art Skills Program.
- Provide cooperation to Faculties / Centres / Colleges that run programs related to culture and the arts.
