ASASIpintar
ASASIpintar UKM is a pre-university programme under the purview of Pusat GENIUS@Pintar Negara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The programme is designed for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers with strong academic credentials, high intellectual potential, and talent. Graduates of the ASASIpintar UKM will pursue Bachelor’s degrees in a variety of fields at Malaysian public universities, based on their grades and faculty interviews. Beginning in 2021, students will be able to apply to degree programmes via two routes: the application route to UKM faculties (except the Faculty of Islamic Studies) and the online UPU application route. The decision on the acceptance of a student’s application is entirely dependent on the decision of the faculties applied for.
The ASASIpintar UKM programme places a strong emphasis on students’ holistic development, ensuring that their physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being are all addressed. The curriculum emphasises a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as research courses that can help students improve their ability to conduct a variety of research in a field of interest. The ASASIpintar programme is built on the pillars of cultivating advanced knowledge and cutting-edge innovations.
Objective Of The Program Aims

To provide an early experience to students of ASASIpintar UKM program to learn at a higher learning institution, thus mastering areas of specialization ahead of other students.

To establish a generation of gifted and talented students who acculturate innovation and creation while mastering skills in research.

To inculcate leadership, responsibility and good decision making among the students in knowledge areas and human development with consideration of high value principles and ethics.

To enhance a holistic human competencies among gifted students to increase their ability to contribute at national and international levels.
ASASIpintar UKM students will pursue their undergraduate studies at various faculties at UKM. Students will make six choices of the courses that they want. The faculties will do the selection based on the requirements decided by the faculties such as cumulative grade point average (cgpa), interviews (face to face or other types of interviews) and other requirements. Changes are subject to current state.
