UKM prioritises industry and community networking in order to strengthen collaboration in improving the quality of teaching and learning, research, development, and services. Among them are partnerships with KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Sime-Darby Foundation, MPOB, FELDA, TNB, and others.

UKM established a Community Education Center in Pos Gob, Kelantan, for Orang Asli children to pursue their education. The Community Education Center was established as a result of a collaboration between KPM, JAKOA, and CIMB Islamic Bank.

UKM has never shied away from assisting the community. The Alumni Relations Center has raised approximately RM700,000 for flood victims in Pahang, Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, and Terengganu, as well as flood victims in Yan, Kedah, through the Bantuan Kasih Mission.
