Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours
PROGRAMME SUMMARY
Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours offers a programme that uses principles of science, engineering, economics as well as safety to conceive, design and develop the transformation processes of raw materials in numerous areas into useful and high valued products including materials, chemicals, food, fuel and others. Becoming a competent graduate from our chemical engineering programme requires student to master the fundamental principles in chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics before advancing into core engineering courses such as thermodynamics, material and energy balance, reaction kinetics and reactor design, mass and heat transfer, separation processes, dynamics and control, and plant and process design focussing on both chemical and biochemical processes. Our programme is further enhanced with safety, economics, environmental and sustainability courses to create awareness and provide substantial knowledge for students emphasizing the engineer’s role and responsibility in performing the engineering task and fulfilling the requirement by the authority, industrial and most importantly, the society. In keeping the pace with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), several core courses have been strengthened with the IR4.0 elements including the artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IOT), advanced materials and several others. The programme wraps up with some professional development courses such as engineering ethics and project management for student exposure.
Programme Requirements
Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) APEL.A Certification Level 6 of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF);
and
Obtained at least a Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for exams beginning in session 1 of 2021 OR a Band 2 for exams up to the year of 2020, depending on the validity period at the time of application;
and
Pass the exam or interview that the faculty has set up.

Applications for full time study programmes (STPM, Matriculation, STAM and Diploma/ Equivalent) must be submitted via Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education Online Application. Applications for studies in all the programmes offered are published in local newspapers between the month of January to April every year.
