PROGRAMME SUMMARY
Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) aims to provide full-time undergraduate professional training for future pharmacists. Pharmacy is an interdisciplinary field that integrates knowledge of medical and health sciences, chemistry of drugs, formulation of drugs, and disease prevention and management leading towards patient care. As you build your foundation on these basic knowledge, in the later years you will also learn the processes of drug manufacturing, methods to analyse the quality of drug products, approaches to manage patient’s drug therapy, and conducting research. In the immersive final year training, you will experience real-life training on pharmaceutical manufacturing, management of pharmacy business, delivery of pharmacy related services in hospital and community settings, therapeutic management of real patients and the application of pharmacy-related policies, in which all of these will equip you with the skills of quality management of medication focusing on quality patient care.

Applications for full time study programmes (STPM, Matriculation, STAM and Diploma/ Equivalent) must be submitted via Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education Online Application. Applications for studies in all the programmes offered are published in local newspapers between the month of January to April every year.

Life at Faculty
Our educational facilities are located at the UKM Jalan Raja Muda Campus in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Throughout the four-year journey with us, you will learn in our world-class laboratories, mock manufacturing plant, active learning & clinical pharmacy simulation suites, on-campus community pharmacy and our modern teaching hospital (Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz). The city campus also locates other health-related faculties i.e. Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Dentistry. The campus provides a good platform for you to get to know students from other health-related programmes which may end up as life-long friendships. Other than the usual on-campus facilities such as the library and cafés, the city campus offers a great diversity with easy access to many interesting spots such as places to eat and drink, shopping malls, recreational parks, theatre halls, and art galleries. On-campus student accommodation is a ‘home away from home’ where you live and learn. You may also uncover private off-campus accommodation as you grow more familiar with the places around you.
