Psychology – Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The psychology program is developed to fulfill current needs and demands. At this level, students will be exposed to basic knowledge of psychology. This undergraduate program provides training in the broad area of basic psychology. Students will learn about human’s behaviour, thought, feeling, perception, cognitive-reasoning as well as physiological aspects of the human being.  It is also concerned with the practical and ethical applications of psychology research to the profession. It is a hope that graduated students from this program will be able to provide expertise and skills in serving the country. It is also an aim to prepare students to pursue their postgraduate studies in a specialized area.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Students must complete a minimum of 121 credits of study of the course of 3 years. Students are expected to prepare in advance by reading the required materials and discussion conducted during or outside of class where your participation in classes will be assessed. For the dissertation students will have a supervisor from whom they can expect guidance and support, but the purpose of the dissertation is to allow you to independently design and conduct a piece of research and analysis. Industrial training is compulsory. It is a student placement in an industry or organisation that offers training related to psychology for a period of 8 weeks.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Department of Higher Education (KPT), Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOE) is responsible for the selection of students. Although this department determines the minimum requirement of admission, the Faculty has the autonomy in preparing special admission requirements. Generally, students that are admitted to the Faculty must adhere to basic minimum requirements as follows:-

UKM-International
