Second Cluster Library
The Second Cluster Library was established in 2012 and started its service on 9th of September 2013. This library manages information resources and services for the requirements of the university’s teaching, learning and research in the fields of engineering, architectures, technology and information sciences. The library is located at the Second Cluster of UKM and it shares the building with the Centre for Academic Management, the Human Resources Division and the Student Financial Division. This building has seven levels and the library comprises level two to five with an area of 4,745 square meters.

Collections
General Collection
The library users can borrow this open access collection based on their respective categories. This collection is located at Level 4 and Level 5.
Folio Collection
This collection is book with large sizes and it is located at level 4. Books are categorized as folio when the height reaches 35 cm and the width is 25 cm.
Journal Collection
This collection comprises current journals and back issue journals. Current journals are journals with current issues or journals that are still incomplete issues to be bound. Back issue journals are journals with complete issues and has been bound. This collection is located at Level 3.
Reference Collection
Comprises dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. which is located at Level 2. These materials are not allowed for borrowing and are strictly for reference purposes within the library only.
Thesis Collection
Comprises masters and PhD student theses. This collection is located at Level 2 near the counter. This collection is not allowed for borrowing or photocopying. The theses are strictly for reference purposes only at the provided space. Library users need to deal with staff at the Level 2 counter before referring the theses.

Online Renewal can be done through GEMILANG before the due date.Renewal is only allowed for a maximum of 3 times, with no outstanding fine and the material has not been booked by other users.
Library users can reserve materials that has been borrowed by other library users via GEMILANG. Cancellation of reservation also can be done through GEMILANG. After a book returned by the borrower, the bookers are given seven (7) days to get the book at the Level 2 counter.
- This service is extended to all academic s, professionals,administrative staff, postgraduates and final year students of the University. Undergraduate students of the University may be considered for the service if the required items are available only in libraries where they are denied library membership.
- Applicants are required to complete the InterLibrary Loan Form / or fill in the online http://iquest.net.my/iquest/
- Applicants will be charged the cost of materials supplied and services fees
- Materials in the country are FREE but foreign materials will be charged.

- For item from other libraries, users are billed for the cost of item and service charge determined by the lending libraries.
The Information Skills Course is a guidance and education service programme for library customers. The main aim of this course is to build skills in accessing a variety of materials and information sources; and to guide the customers towards using the materials and services provided by the library with efficiency, effectively and independently. This service is provided primarily for the new students.
New books will be placed on display for duration of 1 – 2 months at display new books corner, Level 2 before being arranged at General Collection. Users are allowed to borrow the books.
Facilities
The Auditorium is located at Level 2 and can accommodate 177 people at one time. In order to use the auditorium, for UKM staff, they need to book the auditorium via Sistem Maklumat Pengurusan Ruang (SMPR), while for the students; they need to go to Level 2 counter.

The Training lab is located at Level 2 and can accommodate 34 people at one time. In order to use the training lab, for UKM staff, they need to book via Sistem Maklumat Pengurusan Ruang (SMPR), while for the students; they need to go to Level 2 counter.
The library provides a self-check machine for borrowing and returning books at Level 2 nearer to the counter.
The library provides reading area for each level in the library.
This area is located opposite to the library exit at Level 2. This area provides a water dispenser and sales of mineral water and snacks for the convenience of users.
This area is located at Level 2 with indoor board games facilities such as chess and Sahibba. a television is also provided in this area.
All levels in the library are equipped with Wi-Fi coverage.
