MS WORD FOR THESIS

Synopsis
Writing a thesis is an important skill. It is produced as a proof of a research work. It is a once in a life time experience should you decide to embark on the thesis journey. Thus it is essential to place certain level of care and attention to the details while writing a thesis. This document is not quite the same as a normal research report or research publication. The student has to produce only one thesis. Sometimes, a thesis is a combination of several published papers. Therefore, the student/writer must be aware of the relationship of one particular chapter/paper to another as stated in the thesis guidelines.
The standard writing software commonly used is MS Word from MS Office. Therefore, this workshop is designed to emphasize the usage of important utilities in MS Word to expedite thesis writing. Simultaneously, some tips to speed up searching connection will be highlighted. These fundamental skills will ensure the thesis is written in the form recommended by the regulations of the university. This is done by implementing proper styling using MS Word Template (i.e. filename.dotx). In addition, some of the utilities in MS Word are dedicated for thesis writing will be detailed out i.e. APA Styles, Chapter numbering, Section Break and Field Codes. It is assumed that the participant have an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word prior to this workshop. The important items are will be elaborated in 18 chapters covering aspect of thesis writing shown in the list of content. It is hope by using this skills, the student can concentrate to the content than the format of the thesis. The approach of the workshops towards producing the document called thesis in one single file.
