Institut Penyelidikan Tenaga Suria | Solar Energy Research Institute
The passive and Low Energy Architecture laboratory highlights research on passive and sustainable technologies for use in the architectural industry. Among the scope of research conducted in the characterization of building materials, building energy modeling, and energy simulations using the latest software. The Lab Coordinator for this lab is Ar. Dr. Lim Chin Haw. SERI is also the Authorized Training Partner (ATP) for the IESVE software in Malaysia. We conduct training on the IESVE and Sefaira software for building energy performance. This laboratory was built as a result of SERI UKM’s collaboration with AJIYA Sdn Bhd as well as the injection of funds from the Arus Perdana grant. The Low Energy Architecture laboratory also has the Heat Flow Meter (HFM) which is able to conduct tests for the U-Value, R-Value, and thermal conductivity of building materials. The laboratory also has a rainwater filtration system donated by Aura-Lite Sdn Bhd for daily use and water quality research.
