Assoc. Prof. Datin Dr. Shahizon Azura Mohamed Mukari is an Associate Professor and Consultant Neuroradiologist at the Department of Radiology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre. She obtained her Bachelor degree from the University of Glasgow in 1995. She received her Master in Medicine (Radiology) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2005 and underwent sub specialization training in Neuroradiology in University Malaya Medical Centre. Since then, she has participated and conducted several researches mainly pertaining to tumour/infection of the central nervous system and stroke imaging. She is deeply involved in the Conjoint Board of Radiology that oversees the direction and training of Radiology specialization in Malaysia. She is involved in the direction and supervision of the radiology-training program in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia since 2006. She holds various roles in Conjoint Board of Radiology such as an examiner for Master of Radiology, a member of exam vetting committee, pre entrance exam chairperson and a member of Conjoint Board of Radiology. As a neuroradiologist, she is an active member of the Neuroradiology Special Interest Group, which is under the College of Radiology, its aim is to share knowledge with the radiology community in Malaysia by conducting courses/workshop and seminars. As an academician, she has published articles in refereed journal articles, conferences and supervised Masters of Radiology (UKM) candidates to completion. She has also secured several local grants for her research projects.
