Idayu Badilla Idris is currently affiliated to the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Medical Centre. She obtained her MBBS from University of Malaya and Masters in Community Medicine (Family Health) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In 2014, she achieved her PhD from Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom. She is registered as a Public Health Physician (NSR 132766) and had been working in the Ministry of Health from 1996 till 2007 in Government Hospital, Health Clinics, Health Districts Office as well as the State Health Department, before joining UKM as a lecturer in 2008. Her research interest is in Public Health including Children and Adolescent Public Health. She is also interested in other specialties in Family Health including Women and Maternal Health. Her work includes mental health well-being among children and she has been supervising PhD students on topics such as health-related quality of life among gastrointestinal cancer caregivers, early screening and intervention for dyslexia among pre-school children and empowering diabetic patient`s self-care and education in Health Clinics. She has also published manuscripts in National and International Journals.
