Assoc. Prof. Dr. Safinaz Mohd Khialdin is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Hospital Canselor Tunku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HCTM UKM), specializing in Paediatric Ophthalmology. She completed her ophthalmology training from the National University of Malaysia in 2010. She then started her subspecialty training programme in Paediatric Ophthalmology under Dr Azura Ramlee at the Ministry of Health hospitals. She then pursued her fellowship training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Australia under the supervision of Prof Dr Frank Martin and Dr Stephen Hing. She has more than 30 journal article publications under her name and is actively conducting research in various areas. Her research interest is in the management of myopia, amblyopia and refractive error. Dr Safinaz Mohd Khialdin is currently the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme of Ophthalmology Department, National University of Malaysia and the Secretary of the Malaysian Universities Conjoined Committee of Ophthalmology.
