Workshop Title: Using Hydrological models for integrated analysis of water supply and demand

Synopsis of the workshop:

UKCEH’s GWAVA (Global Water Availability Assessment) model provides integrated analysis of water supply and demand at national to continental scales. GWAVA can be configured with both locally sourced data and global databases, making it ideal for application in data-sparse regions. Tailored scenarios can be modelled to give projections of future changes to water availability, along with consequential impacts.
This interactive workshop will give you a snapshot of the models capabilities, and allow you to apply the model to a sample catchment via some short practical exercises.

Attendee requirement:

Windows 10 or higher. Microsoft Office (or similar) to open and amend .csv and .docx files. Modelling software must be installed prior to the workshop to allow us time to sort out any technical issues – ideally, we’d like to send the GWAVA software out at least 1 week prior to the workshop.

Maximum capacity of attendees:

20 (limited to enable more 1-2-1 interaction between participants and UKCEH staff).
