Course Synopsys

The objective of this course is to provide knowledge in the care of older adults to improve their independent skills. The course will be delivered through lectures, practical sessions, field works and visits. Assessments of the course will be done through continuous examination, practical examination, assignment and presentation.

Course Learning Outcome

Apply theoretical knowledge related to the ageing and rehabilitation in the assessment and management of the elderly.

Make critical decisions based on evidence in aspects of evaluation and rehabilitation of the elderly.

Apply appropriate assessment and rehabilitation skills assessment among the elderly.

Connect digital and numeracy skills in carrying out assignments and research related to the elderly care.

Apply interpersonal skills, teamwork and good communication.

Practice the leadership characteristics, autonomy and responsibility in all aspects of elderly care.

Entry Requirement

Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences or an equivalent related field, recognized by the university senate. The degree must be a professional degree that qualifies the candidate to work in their respective fields. The professional degree that specialized in the subject including a Bachelor's Degree related to health, social and other sciences.

Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Health Sciences, Social Sciences or equivalent related field, recognized by the university senate and obtain an English language certificate; IELTS (5.5)/TOEFL (550) or equivalent.

When will the classes be conducted?

The classes will be conducted on weekdays starting from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and classes will also be conducted on Saturdays starting from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Are the classes conducted online or face-to-face?

Classes on weekdays will be conducted online, while some classes on Saturdays will be held physically.
