Introduction

The Computer Science program is designed with strong computing fundamental that provides students with the required skills to solve problems and create future computing technology. The program offers four specializations; namely Software Technology, Network Technology, Intelligent Machine and Data Science which the students will choose in their second year.

1.Demonstrate knowledge of basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to the field of Computer Science.
2.Apply computing skills in analyzing, modeling, designing, developing, organizing and evaluating efficient computing solutions related to the field of Computer Science.
3.Instilling skills and social responsibility in developing computing products related to the field of Computer Science
4.Demonstrate professionalism and social attitudes as well as ethical considerations based on ethical and legal principles related to the field of Computer Science.
5.Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills
6.Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills in solving problems using techniques related to Computer Science.
7.Practice information management skills and lifelong learning principles in academic and career development related to Computer Science.
8.Practising management and entrepreneurial skills in a broad perspective related to the field of Computer Science.
-STPM / MATRIKULASI / ASASI

Obtain at least a CGPA of 2.50 at the STPM/Matriculation/Foundation level;

AND

Obtain at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM / KPM Matriculation / Foundation level in any two (2) of the following subjects:

    • Biology
    • Physics / Engineering Physics
    • Chemistry / Engineering
    • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) / Computer Science
    • Mathematics / Modern Mathematics /  Additional Mathematics / Pure Mathematics

AND

Obtain at least Grade C/Grade 6C at SPM level in the following subjects:

    • (a)Additional Mathematics; or
    • (b)Mathematics; 

and Any one (1) of the following subjects:

    • Biology
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Science
    • Engineering Drawing
    • Mechanical Engineering Studies
    • Civil Engineering Studies
    • Electrical and Electronics
    • Engineering Studies
    • Design
    • Engineering Technology
    • Information and Communication Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Technical Communication
    • Graphics
    • Additional Science
    • Applied Science
    • Multimedia Production
    • Computer Graphics

Candidates for category (b) must;

    • Take a reinforcement Mathematics course with a suitable topic in the Computer Science discipline at the beginning of your studies.
    • Pass reinforcement Mathematics as a prerequisite before being allowed to follow the relevant core course. Candidates can take any subject that does not require a Mathematics course as a pre-requisite.
    • Students from Matriculation / Foundation or its equivalent can be exempted from taking Reinforcement Mathematics, provided that the Mathematics offered at the program level is equivalent / more than the Additional Mathematics offered at the SPM level.

AND

Obtain at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

AND

Pass the test and/or interview set by the Faculty

Possess a Diploma in Computing and related equivalents from an Educational Institution recognized by the University and Government of Malaysia and obtain at least a CGPA of 3.00;

AND

Obtain at least credit at SPM level or equivalent in the subject

    • Mathematics

OR

Obtain at least a pass at the Diploma level in the subject;

    • Mathematics

AND

Candidates are required to submit academic transcripts from Semester one (1) to the final Semester;

AND

Get at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET);

AND

Pass the test and/or interview set by the Faculty.

Candidates for a Diploma in Computer Science will be exempted from the Year 1 course and offered directly to Year 2 of study (subject to faculty approval).

Obtain at least Grade Jayyid at STAM level in any two (2) subjects.

AND

Obtain at least Grade C/ Grade 6C at the SPM level in Mathematics.

AND

Obtain at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

AND

Pass the test and/or interview set by the Faculty.
