Introduction

The Master of Engineering in Environment program is offered by the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering as a course work program. It offers core courses in the field of Industrial Waste Management, Air Pollution Chemistry and Control, Municipal Solid Waste Management, Environmental Management: Ecology, Audit and Impact Assessment, as well as Advanced Wastewater Treatment Process for environmental applications. Students are given the option to choose 4 elective courses from various aspects of environmental engineering that are related to Environmental Risk Analysis, Low Carbon Technologies, Surface Water Hydrology, Symbiotic Eco- Community, Urban Water System Modelling, Conversion of Biomass and Biorefinery, Energy Recovery from Waste and Biomass Fuels, Industrial Hygiene, as well as Design for Safe Handling of Industrial Chemical. In addition, students have the opportunity to develop research skills through research project courses. At the end of the program, students are expected to acquire the latest knowledge of environmental engineering, and be able to meet the needs of industry and other stakeholders, both locally and internationally.

2.This program offers elective courses from various aspects of environmental engineering, including those related to air quality and pollution control, environmental management, advanced wastewater treatment, environmental risk and sustainability, water resources management, biomass and bioenergy, industrial safety and research skills and project development.
3.This programme is a multidiscipline programme that integrates three engineering programmes namely environmental engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.

-Bachelor's Degree
    • A Bachelor of Engineering degree or a Bachelor of Science degree (in engineering field) or a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 and above from any recognized university OR

    •  A Bachelor of Engineering degree a Bachelor of Science degree (in engineering field) or a Bachelor of Technology degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00-2.49 with at least 5 years of working experience in related engineering fields OR

    •  A Bachelor of Science (non-engineering field) or a Bachelor of Technology degree (non-engineering field) with a CGPA of a minimum of 3.00 from any other recognized university AND

International candidates must also submit proof of proficiency in spoken and written English. An eligible candidate must have IELTS ≥ Band 6.0 or MUET ≥ Band 4 or TOEFL iBT ≥ 60 or TOEFL pBT ≥ 498 or Pearson Test of English ≥ 59 or Cambridge English Qualifications and Test ≥ 169 (with proof) taken within the last two years before application.
