Public Universities Heads of Quality Management Council (MPQ-IPTA)
Public Universities Heads of Quality Management Council (MPQ-IPTA) is an official event which brings together all the heads of quality management in 20 universities in Malaysia which is intended as a liaison platform, discussions and sharing of best practices related to quality management at the University. Four things forming the terms of reference for MPQ-IPTA are :
- As a platform to share their concerns regarding management and academic quality;
- As a platform to share best practices in quality management;
- As a platform for representatives of public universities to design activities related to quality for mutual interest;
- To be the official body representing public universities in the liaison betweenlocal and foreign quality organisations, and the management of the Universities.
Its first meeting was held on October 4, 2011 and the Centre for Quality Assurance, UKM as the university recommending the meeting for the heads of quality management among 20 universities was selected as the Secretariat. Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance Center (CQA), Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah had been appointed as the Chairperson for the period of 2012-2013.
The Chairperson for the period of 2014-2015 is Prof. Dr. Fauza Ab. Ghaffar, Director of Quality Management and Excellence (QMEC), Universiti Malaya.
