A student pass allows multiple entry
Issued annually or one-off basis.
A student pass renewal application is mandatory for any student whose pass is valid for 1 year or less.
A student pass renewal should be applied as early as 3 months or at least 2 months before the expiry date.
Submission of renewal application is mandatory, regardless of your current location as it can be done online. If you are outside of Malaysia, you are required to return to Malaysia as soon as your 3 application status turns 50%.
For all undergraduate student, please note that UKMShape will no longer bear the other half of your Renewal Application fee to EMGS. Therefore, all application fee must be borne by the student and must be paid directly to the EMGS.
WHAT IS ONE-OFF PASS?
A one-off pass is a student pass duration that is valid for more than 1 year
It is compulsory to renew your i-Kad and insurance annually, as early as 3 months or at least 2 months before the expiry month.
If your academic and attendance report does not satisfy the requirement of the Ministry of Higher Education, EMGS will not proceed with your application.
Late renewal penalty will be automatically applied if complete documents were received within 50 days before student pass expiry.
If no submission is received by 50 days before date of expiry. Visa Unit reserves the right to report to the Faculty and relevant authorities. The late renewal penalties will be charged to your tuition fee account.
WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED?
Kindly note that approval to renew your student pass or ikad/insurance will be based on your academic records, and entirely up to Immigration’s discretion. Please also be reminded that overstaying is a serious Immigration offence (late renewal and/or overstay penalty applies).
Footnote: Those, who are outside Malaysia are also required to submit their ikad / insurance renewal documents at least 2 months before the date of expiry, to avoid accumulation of penalty (Renewal will be kept on hold until 2 months before date of returning to Malaysia). Please notify us on the date of returning to Malaysia for our reference.
